Meet Our Coaches
Experienced, certified, and genuinely invested in your progress
Our coaches are experienced, certified professionals who were drawn to General Fitness Gym because they genuinely care about what happens to the people they train. From Olympic lifting to beginner boot camps, each brings a distinct background — and a shared commitment to meeting you exactly where you are.
Marcus Webb
Head Coach & Co-Founder
Olympic lifting · barbell cycling · programming
Marcus has been coaching CrossFit since 2011 and holds a Level 3 certification. Before opening General Fitness Gym he spent three years coaching at affiliates in Denver and Portland. He specializes in barbell cycling and Olympic lifting. Outside the gym he runs ultramarathons at a pace that makes everyone else feel fine about their 5Ks.
Priya Anand
CrossFit & Endurance Coach
Endurance · rowing · movement efficiency
Priya came to CrossFit through competitive rowing and discovered she liked coaching even more than competing. She holds a CrossFit Level 2 cert and a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach cert. Priya coaches most of the early-morning classes and leads our annual Turkey Trot training group every fall.
DeShawn Kimura
Strength & Personal Training Coach
Strength · older adults · injury prevention
DeShawn is a former high school football coach who transitioned to personal training after a knee surgery changed how he thought about movement. He holds a NSCA-CSCS certification and a CrossFit Level 1. Most of his personal training clients are over 50 — he says that age group works the hardest and complains the least.
Tara Johansson
Boot Camp & Foundations Coach
Beginners · group motivation · corrective movement
Tara created the Boot Camp program from scratch three years ago after noticing how many people toured the gym, got intimidated, and left. She has a background in group fitness instruction and a CrossFit Level 1. Her classes sell out fastest. She is also a licensed physical therapist assistant and brings that lens to every cue she gives.
Eli Oduya
CrossFit Coach
WOD design · competition prep · gymnastics movements
Eli found CrossFit in college and never left. He holds a CrossFit Level 2 and competed at Regionals in 2019. He coaches afternoon and evening classes and is known for creative WOD design and refusing to program burpees two days in a row. Members have tried to confirm this policy in writing; he declines.
Sofia Restrepo
CrossFit & Nutrition Coach
Nutrition · Spanish-language coaching · member retention
Sofia joined as a member in 2017 and became a coach in 2020. She holds a CrossFit Level 1 and a Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification. She runs optional monthly nutrition check-ins for members and coaches a mix of morning and midday classes. She is fluent in Spanish and coaches some sessions entirely in Spanish on request.
